I have an invitation for you.
Hello.
A life interrupted holds an invitation to change.
How many interruptions will you have today? And how will you react to them?
Interruptions will always turn up to challenge us. Some will be welcome while others will rock our world. But what if these interruptions are opportunities, holy disruptions even, that God can use to enable us to make significant changes in our lives?
In my new book, I look at ways to help you see how interruptions can hold an invitation from God to change and draw you closer to him.
I focus in on how we can learn to become more alert to the nudges from the Holy Spirit and be better prepared for life's next curveball. At the end of each chapter, you’ll find an interrupter - a prayer or simple spiritual exercise - to help you pause and respond.
I trust it may be the start of a journey to invite the uninterruptible love of God further into your life and see the version of you that you’ve always dreamed of being.
Let me know how it goes. Meanwhile, cheering you on...

About Andrew
I have been in church leadership for over 28 years. Now I might describe myself best in four words: writer, mentor, consultant, and interrupter.
In the early part of my life, I worked as an advertising copywriter for British and American ad agencies. and for a brief time in between as a TV comedy scriptwriter.
After graduating from London School of Theology I joined the staff at Riverside Vineyard in west London. I went on to help establish an Anglican church plant in Twickenham, and later founded Stour Valley Vineyard Church in south Suffolk with Emma, my wife, along with the town's foodbank Storehouse and community programme.
I have largely felt called to work bi-vocationally and so along the way have held church positions and senior management positions. For the last 14 years, I have been a strategy consultant. With several advertising industry awards under my belt, I have just about allowed myself on occasion to be called a marketing expert.
Emma and I are blessed with three incredible daughters. And, just to bring you up to date, now based in Guildford and part of the Emmaus Rd church family.
If you want to interrupt me, you can find me on social media or in a café somewhere in Guildford in search of the perfect Flat White.

What’s being said
‘Life Interrupted addresses a universally important topic in a refreshingly accessible, practical, and engaging way. It combines the sharp wit of a former creative director, with the soft and seasoned wisdom of a pastor who has himself suffered and struggled with these very themes…more like a series of coffee dates with a wise and kind mentor than a succession of earnest chapters for the religiously inclined. Precisely the kind of interruption we need!’
Pete Greig, founder of 24-7 Prayer movement and senior pastor of Emmaus Rd Church
‘A most helpful guide and hopeful guide to understanding why God is present in the intrusions and disruptions of life…Let Andrew be your companion and guide as you discover where God is present in yours.’
Dr Jason Clark, former principal and head of Waverley Abbey College
‘Aware, wry, and conversational book for those attempting to follow the Spirit, the Perfect Interrupter.’
Dave Workman, president and co-founder of The Elemental Group
‘Andrew encourages us to see such interruptions as God-given opportunities. That’s a mind shift that really shakes me out of my comfort zone. But his gentle challenge, personal stories, and provocative questions are helping me ditch the irritation and seize the moment, with encouraging results!’
Henrietta Blyth, Chief Executive Officer, Open Doors UK & Ireland
‘Andrew is a wise guide and an insightful mentor. I am confident that his hard-won practical wisdom and his insights into the meaning of ‘life in all of its fulness’ will help you find greater joy in your own journey.’
Paul Harcourt, former national leader of New Wine, vicar of All Saints’ Woodford Wells
‘If like me you prefer life to be much more predictable, then definitely read this book where interruptions are put into perspective, showing how we can make the most of even the worst of them. Worth interrupting your life to read!’
Mervyn Thomas CMG, founder president, CSW
‘The book is full of stories of his own and others’ experience, which makes it a credible and entertaining read. I definitely felt a bit of an ‘ouch’ at times, which is probably a sign that his writing and insight is doing their job!’
Steve Fenning, senior leader of the Forge Community
